Viral situation

I was in Thailand with my buddy and he told me one night that he got attacked by some people on the street. Luckily he didn't turn out too bad (the other guy), but the first thing that came to my mind was the fact that it was unfortunate that I wasn't there...with my camera.

Self sustained

It is difficult to improve myself when I'm living so nicely with my folks!

The obits

Sometimes I have a need to get Fremont out there and get on my case. Here's a good one.

Missing gramps

I was just going through my stash of comics and just came across this one. It's amazing to me how sometimes I look at a comic I've drawn from a long time ago and see the humor in it I didn't at the time.
This one is in honor of my grandfather who will continue to be m
issed.

"C" is for cookie

I'm not certain what I was thinking when I came up with this comic strip. Either cookies or Sesame Street...most likely cookies!

The future is now

The problem with being who I am, is the future I'm concerned about is only about the five minutes that have not happened yet. I'm sure that can be a problem in about twenty years, but I just can't see that.
What's for dinner?

Simple Blog

I think I'm gonna just keep my blog simple. Just a simple place to post my comics. I don't want to think too hard about what to apply here. What I think doesn't matter unless I draw it anyway. I will post some thoughts sometimes, but not as often as I thought I'd like. We'll see what happens. Who the heck knows?! I don't even know if  I'll ever get the real website going properly, nor am I sure I care.

Anyway, just read my comics, post comments or whatever...just make sure you buy my crap!!!

Under construction

I am currently learning how to make this blog visually appealing. Please come back often as I continuously make changes and updates.

A Valentine's Day comic

In Jonah's world, Valentine's Day is a lonely day. Sometimes I'll think up a comic in honor of a holiday, draw it, and wait for that holiday to post it. I figured this is a perfect comic to show that I can create a comic for a holiday and post it as soon as I want which makes it even more effective than if I were to wait for the holiday. Of course when the holiday does come around, I hope I have a comic corresponding with said holiday.

Don't let the cold out!

Washington Post comic of the day - Get Fuzzy by Darby Conley

I  love reading the funnies in the newspaper...probably more than reading web comics. I like to make a pot of coffee, glance through the front page and the local section (the sports section is used to line the bottom of the bird cage as far as I'm concerned), open up the style section, and glance through the advice columns. If the advice columns are super disturbing, I will enjoy reading them thoroughly. Once I get through this, I will begin reading the comics with utmost concentration
.
I don't often "lol" at the daily comics, but today's Get Fuzzy is an exception. The cat points out one Lego brick which could only mean one thing, however after bringing it to the attention of his canine roommate, he realizes there is another (only one other) possible reason as to why it is out on the ledge, neither one being a positive explanation as to why it's there.

I appreciate Darby Conley's sense of humor. You think dogs and cats lie around all day contemplating their next meal, but what is unimportant and meaningless to you and me (such as a mere Lego brick on a ledge), could mean the end of the Universe.

Getting older

Time flies...much too fast as I get older. I watched as my peers have gotten married, bought houses, had babies... had more babies... more babies. I'm in my thirties and I still have no idea what I want to do with my life, apart from making comics. I kind of like the idea of having a family, but it certainly wouldn't be in any part of the world where mini vans exist.

Here's the link to today's comic.

Getting a haircut

My hair is becoming bushy and unmanageable. I really don't like my hair growing much longer than it is, mostly because I feel unattractive and older, but I can't seem to justify spending $12-$20 to get a haircut that the military gave me for free eleven or twelve years ago. The total of my last several haircuts was no more than $20 as I was in Thailand, Laos, and Vietnam. Everything is a lot cheaper in that part of Earth... So for now, my hair shall be scraggly and uncut...unless someone would like to volunteer to take their rusty blades to my melon.

Here's a comic that links to my Facebook page I drew awhile back to thank my wonderful cousin, a cosmetologist who donated her time to practice on my head. The comic is also below in case you don't want to "like" my page and admit you enjoy my crap...I mean craft.

Long time gone

I've been gone from the States for a long time. Six months is a rather long time, but now that I'm back in the States, it doesn't seem very long at all. My focus is to head back to Asia as soon as possible (or approximately Nov. 15, 2013) for as long as possible. As much as I enjoy drawing for Espresso City, it is a full time job, what you say..? Being miserable is a full time job..? Why yes, that seems to be the case, but drawing my misery is a fuller time job (I just made up that word).  I'd like to be in a position to post my comics daily, but in order for me to do that, I need you to support me...no no....YOU don't have to BUY anything from me (although it'd help), but supporting me would be telling your friends how much you HATE my work and you NEVER want to see it...I mean...you ENJOY my work and HOPE to see the comics ALL THE TIME and then have them tell more friends and more friends...and wear shirts and paint graffiti on all the walls of your Amish barns that "Espresso City Comics are awesome!"
So go to http://www.cafepress.com/espressocity and spend your college fund because it would be worth it....for me!

Welcome back

Hello my friends, my fans, my mortal enemies.
I haven't posted on this blog for over a year as I've been using the Espresso City webpage. Since something is negatively affecting the site, I will use the blog. Perhaps I will learn to keep both of them running when the website gets repaired and updated.

I hope you keep reading and enjoying my comics as I enjoy producing them for you.

Time travel

For some reason I've been wanting to draw two Jonahs. Here's my excuse.
